All trade marks, brand names and logos remain the property of their respective owners.
We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, images, specifications, prices and availability are accurate.
However, please note:
Where possible, we will make clear what is included with each product.
If you are unsure whether a product, accessory, foot, spare part, needle, bobbin, software item or machine is suitable for your needs, please contact us before placing your order.
All prices are shown in pounds sterling.
Prices include VAT where applicable, unless stated otherwise.
Delivery charges, if applicable, will be shown on our website or at checkout before you complete your order.
We reserve the right to change prices at any time, but price changes will not affect orders that we have already accepted.
If we discover an error in the price of a product after you place an order, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible. We may offer you the option to continue with the order at the correct price or cancel the order and receive a full refund.
We are not obliged to supply a product at an incorrect price where the pricing error is obvious and could reasonably have been recognised as a mistake.
From time to time, we may offer promotional codes, discounts, bundles, free gifts, price reductions or special offers.
Promotions are subject to availability and may be changed, withdrawn or ended at any time before your order is accepted.
Unless stated otherwise:
If a free gift is supplied with a product and you return the main product, the free gift must also be returned unused and complete, unless we agree otherwise.
If the free gift is not returned, or is returned damaged or incomplete, we may deduct a reasonable amount from the refund to reflect its value.
When you place an order through our website, you are making an offer to buy the goods in your basket.
After placing your order, you may receive an order acknowledgement email. This confirms that we have received your order, but it does not mean that your order has been accepted.
Your order is accepted when we confirm dispatch, confirm that your order is ready for collection, or otherwise confirm acceptance.
If we are unable to accept your order, we will contact you and refund any payment taken.
We may refuse or cancel an order where:
Payment must be made at the time of ordering unless we agree otherwise.
Payments made through our website are processed securely by PayPal.
When you choose to pay using PayPal, or by debit or credit card through a payment option provided by PayPal, your payment details are entered into and processed by PayPal.
Sew Devine does not receive or store your full debit or credit card details on our website.
We may receive and retain limited transaction information needed to process and manage your order, such as the payment amount, payment status and transaction reference.
Your use of PayPal is also subject to PayPal’s own terms, conditions and privacy policy.
Your order will not usually be dispatched until PayPal has confirmed that the payment has been successfully authorised or completed.
If you choose a credit, instalment or Pay Later option provided by PayPal, that payment arrangement is between you and PayPal and will be subject to PayPal’s eligibility requirements and separate terms and conditions.
We currently deliver to UK addresses only, subject to postcode and courier availability.
Delivery options, costs and estimated delivery times will be shown on our website or at checkout.
We will make reasonable efforts to dispatch orders as quickly as possible. Delivery times are estimates unless we specifically agree a guaranteed delivery date with you.
For larger or higher-value items, such as sewing machines, overlockers, coverstitch machines, embroidery machines, cutting machines, cabinets or similar products, delivery may require a signature.
Please make sure your delivery address is complete and correct. If delivery fails because the address provided was incorrect or incomplete, or because nobody was available to accept the delivery, you may be responsible for any additional delivery or redelivery costs.
We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, including courier delays, supplier delays, severe weather, strikes, transport disruption, customs issues where applicable, power failures, internet failures, cyber incidents, accidents, pandemics, or changes in law.
If we become aware of a delay affecting your order, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible.
For more details, please see our Delivery Information page.
Where click and collect is available, we will contact you when your order is ready for collection.
Please do not travel to collect your order until we have confirmed that it is ready.
You may be asked to provide your order confirmation and proof of identity when collecting your order.
If someone else is collecting on your behalf, we may ask you to confirm this in advance.
If you are a consumer buying online, by phone or by mail order, you usually have the right to cancel your order without giving a reason.
You can cancel from the time you place your order until 14 days after the day you receive the goods.
If your order is delivered in separate parts, the 14-day cancellation period starts the day after you receive the final item.
To cancel, you must tell us clearly that you wish to cancel. You can do this by email, post, telephone, or by using the cancellation form at the bottom of these terms.
If you cancel before the goods are dispatched, we will refund you as soon as reasonably possible.
If the goods have already been dispatched or delivered, you must return them to us in accordance with the returns section below.
Some items cannot usually be cancelled or returned for change of mind. Please see the section titled Items that cannot usually be returned for change of mind.
For more details, please see our Returns & Cancellations page.
If you cancel an online order after the goods have been dispatched or delivered, you must return the goods to us within 14 days of telling us that you wish to cancel.
Unless the goods are faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, you are responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us.
Returned goods should be complete and include all original accessories, manuals, cables, feet, tools, covers, software, packaging and free gifts supplied with the order.
You are allowed to inspect the goods in the same way you would in a shop. However, if goods have been handled more than necessary and their value has been reduced, we may make a deduction from the refund to reflect the reduction in value.
Please package returned goods carefully. We recommend using a tracked and insured delivery service, especially for sewing machines, overlockers, embroidery machines, cutting machines and other higher-value items.
Goods remain your responsibility until they are safely received by us.
For goods purchased in our shop, you do not have an automatic legal right to return them simply because you have changed your mind.
We may choose to accept a return under any goodwill returns policy we offer, subject to the terms of that policy.
This does not affect your statutory rights where goods are faulty, not of satisfactory quality, not fit for purpose or not as described.
Before ordering an accessory, replacement part, presser foot, bobbin, needle, hoop or similar item, please check that it is suitable for the exact make and model of your machine. If you are unsure, please contact us before ordering and provide your machine’s full make and model and, where relevant, its serial number.
Where the product description accurately states the item’s compatibility and a customer orders an item that is not suitable for their machine, this will normally be treated as a change-of-mind return rather than a product fault.
You may open the packaging and inspect the item only to the extent reasonably necessary to establish its nature, characteristics, compatibility and function, in a similar way to what might reasonably be permitted in a shop.
If an item has been fitted, used, altered, marked, scratched, damaged or contaminated with thread, fabric, oil or other residue beyond what was reasonably necessary for inspection, and this reduces its value, we may make a proportionate deduction from your refund to reflect the actual reduction in value.
We may also make a proportionate deduction where accessories, components, instructions or other supplied items are missing, or where unnecessary damage to the item’s retail packaging has reduced the value of the returned product.
We will not make a deduction merely because packaging has been opened where opening it was reasonably necessary to inspect the item.
Please return products complete and package them securely to prevent loss or damage during return delivery.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights where goods are faulty, not of satisfactory quality, not fit for purpose or not as described.
Where you validly cancel an online order within the cancellation period, we will refund the price paid for the goods.
We will also refund the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option available for your order. If you chose a more expensive delivery option, such as express, next-day or Saturday delivery, we are not required to refund the additional amount paid above the cost of standard delivery.
Where goods have been dispatched or delivered, we may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back or you provide evidence that you have sent them back, whichever happens first.
We will make the refund using the same payment method used for the original purchase unless you expressly agree to a different method. You will not be charged a fee for receiving the refund.
We will issue the refund without undue delay and no later than 14 days after the day on which we receive the returned goods or, if earlier, the day on which you provide evidence that you have sent them back.
If you cancel before the goods have been dispatched, we will issue the refund without undue delay and no later than 14 days after the day on which you tell us that you wish to cancel.
You may inspect the goods as you would reasonably be permitted to do in a shop. Where your handling of the goods goes beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, and this reduces their value, we may make a proportionate deduction from the refund to reflect that reduction in value.
Missing accessories, components, manuals, packaging or promotional items may result in a deduction only where their absence reduces the value of the returned goods and where a deduction is permitted by law. Any deduction will be limited to the amount by which the value of the goods has been reduced.
Different rights and remedies apply where goods are faulty, not of satisfactory quality, not fit for purpose or not as described.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights.
Some items cannot usually be cancelled, returned or exchanged for change of mind unless they are faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described.
This may include:
This does not affect your statutory rights if the goods are faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described.
We are under a legal duty to supply goods that are as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality.
If you receive goods that are faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
We may ask you to provide photographs, packaging details, serial numbers or other information to help us investigate the issue.
Where appropriate, we may ask you to return the item to us for inspection.
Where goods are confirmed to be faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, we will provide an appropriate remedy in line with your legal rights. This may include repair, replacement, refund or another suitable remedy depending on the circumstances.
If the return is due to our error, or because the item is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described, we will cover reasonable return delivery costs.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
All goods are packed carefully before dispatch.
If your order arrives damaged, please tell us as soon as reasonably possible, preferably by email with photographs of the outer packaging, inner packaging and damaged item.
Please keep the original packaging while we investigate the issue, as this may be needed for the courier claim or return.
If a parcel appears badly damaged on delivery, please make a note of this with the courier where possible and contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
Many of our products are supplied with a manufacturer’s warranty or guarantee. The length and terms of the warranty may vary depending on the brand and product.
Manufacturer warranties are provided in addition to your statutory rights and do not replace or reduce those rights.
Please keep your proof of purchase, as this may be required for warranty claims.
Warranty cover may not include misuse, accidental damage, neglect, unauthorised repair, normal wear and tear, consumable items, user error or use outside the manufacturer’s instructions.
Consumable, wearable or user-replaceable parts may include items such as needles, bulbs, belts, blades, loopers, needle threaders, bobbin cases, needle plates, cutting mats, scan mats, presser feet, hoops or similar parts, depending on the product and manufacturer.
If a product needs to be returned for warranty assessment or repair, please contact us before sending it back so we can advise on the correct process.
For larger items, such as sewing machines, overlockers, embroidery machines, cutting machines or cabinets, safe packaging is very important. We recommend keeping the original packaging for the duration of the warranty period.
We cannot accept responsibility for damage caused by insufficient packaging when goods are returned to us.
All sewing machines, overlockers, coverstitch machines, embroidery machines and cutting machines sold by Sew Devine are domestic machines intended primarily for household use, unless we expressly state otherwise in the product description.
Domestic machines are not designed for industrial production, factory use or prolonged heavy continuous operation.
Using a domestic machine for business, commercial, school, workshop, production or other intensive purposes may place demands on the machine beyond its intended domestic use.
Use outside the manufacturer’s intended purpose, or use that does not follow the manufacturer’s instructions, may affect warranty cover. Any warranty claim will be considered in accordance with the relevant manufacturer’s warranty terms and the circumstances of the claim.
If you intend to use a machine for a business, school, workshop, production environment, frequent professional work or other heavy use, please contact us before ordering so that we can discuss whether the machine is likely to be suitable for your intended use.
Nothing in this section excludes or limits your statutory rights.
From time to time, we may offer refurbished, ex-display, demonstration or open-box machines.
Where a product is refurbished, ex-display, demonstration or open-box, this will be stated in the product description.
These machines may have been opened, displayed, demonstrated, tested, returned, inspected, repaired or repacked.
We will make reasonable efforts to describe the condition of the machine accurately, including any known marks, missing packaging, missing accessories, replacement accessories or differences from a brand-new sealed item.
Unless stated otherwise, these machines will be supplied with the accessories listed in the product description.
Warranty cover may vary depending on the product, brand and condition, and will be stated where applicable.
Your statutory rights are not affected.
These terms apply to sewing machines, overlockers, coverstitch machines, embroidery machines, cutting machines and related equipment left with Sew Devine for repair, servicing, inspection or assessment.
When you leave a machine with us, we will take reasonable care of it while it is in our possession.
We will use the contact details you provide to update you about the repair or service. Please tell us as soon as possible if your contact details change.
Where parts are required, repair times may depend on supplier availability.
If a machine is old, discontinued, heavily worn, damaged, unsafe or has limited spare parts available, we may not be able to complete a repair.
Where possible, we will advise you if a repair is not economical or if parts are unavailable.
Any estimate or quote is based on the information available at the time. If further faults are found during inspection or repair, we will contact you before carrying out additional chargeable work where reasonably possible.
Machines should be collected as soon as reasonably possible once the repair, service, inspection or assessment is complete.
These terms apply to sewing machines, overlockers, coverstitch machines, embroidery machines, cutting machines and related equipment left with Sew Devine for repair, servicing, inspection or assessment.
When you leave a machine with us, we will use the contact details you provide to update you about the repair, service, inspection or assessment. Please tell us as soon as possible if your contact details change.
Once your machine is ready for collection, or if we are unable to proceed with a repair or service, we will contact you using the contact details provided.
Please collect your machine as soon as reasonably possible after we notify you.
If a machine remains uncollected for a long period, we will make reasonable efforts to contact you again using the details we hold.
Before disposing of, recycling or otherwise dealing with an unclaimed machine, we will send a final written notice where reasonably possible.
This notice may include:
If the machine is still not collected after the final notice period has expired, we may dispose of or recycle the machine in accordance with applicable law.
We will not be responsible for delays caused by incorrect, incomplete or out-of-date contact details provided by the customer.
This section does not affect your statutory rights.
Some spare parts, accessories, machine parts, cabinets, specialist items or special-order products may need to be ordered specifically for you.
Please check that any spare part, presser foot, accessory, needle, bobbin, hoop, software item, cabinet insert or machine part is suitable for your machine before ordering.
If you are unsure, please contact us before placing your order.
Where an item is made to your specification, personalised, cut to size, fitted, used, or ordered specifically in circumstances where cancellation rights do not apply, it may not be possible to cancel or return it unless it is faulty, damaged, incorrect or not as described.
Where cancellation rights are affected, we will make this clear before you place your order where reasonably possible.
Special-order delivery times are estimates and may depend on supplier availability.

In particular, we do not exclude or restrict liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of us breaching these Terms and Conditions or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
Loss or damage is foreseeable if it was obvious that it might happen or if both you and Sew Devine knew that it might happen when the contract was made.
We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not foreseeable, except where the law does not allow us to exclude or restrict liability.
Where goods are purchased wholly or mainly for business, commercial or resale purposes, we will not be responsible for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, loss of anticipated savings or loss of business opportunity, except where the law does not allow us to exclude or restrict that liability.
